Sunscreen is not only a must-do in summer, but also a habit that should be cultivated throughout the year. However, the Shanghai Municipal Consumer Protection Committee reminds consumers to "three look" when buying sunscreen cosmetics:
Look at the index. The higher the SPF value and PA protection level, the better the sunscreen effect, but sunscreen products with a high index will increase the burden on the skin and easily cause clogged pores. If you are outdoors in summer for a long time, such as a seaside holiday, you can choose products with high SPF and PA, such as SPF30-50, PA+++ sunscreen; if you are looking forward to indoors, only occasionally exposed to the sun, then you don’t need too much High SPF, SPF15-30, PA+ sunscreen products are optional.
Look at the type. According to the principle of sun protection, sunscreen cosmetics can be divided into physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen. Physical sunscreen products protect the skin by reflecting and scattering ultraviolet rays, but they need to be applied more to have a better sunscreen effect, so they are generally thicker, greasy, and white. Chemical sunscreen products achieve sun protection by absorbing and converting ultraviolet rays. The advantages are that they are light and non-greasy, breathable and refreshing, but they are irritating to the skin.
Look at skin quality. Dry skin should do basic skin care before using sunscreen cosmetics. You can choose cream-like sunscreen cosmetics with higher moisturizing degree; while for oily skin, you can choose sunscreen cosmetics with water-like texture. Under normal circumstances, emulsion and spray-type sunscreen cosmetics are suitable for all skin types.
